The working of Duka LS-P is simple: the laser beam reflects to the target, and the time the laser beam takes to return is measured. This gives an accurate time that is translated in mm. However every measurement gives only one distance, when you push the side button you can switch the mode to the one you need. I used it for a couple of weeks and the battery is still good, but the fact that it can be charged by micro USB is very nice.
